The Lion was first published in 1962 as the Wesley College community magazine. It is the College’s general news publication and includes OWCA alumni news. It has been published two to three times per year.

The Headmaster of the day, W H Frederick replaced academic prizes with gift books named in honour of distinguished Old Collegians, benefactors and those involved with the College.
